My journey in sports began long before I ever held a camera or stepped onto a coaching field. Back in 1997, I started working with athletes across Central Texas, teaching the finer points of hitting, defense, and the mental side of the game. What began as a passion quickly became a calling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of training hundreds of athletes—many of whom went on to become Division I standouts, All-Americans, Team USA members, and even professional fastpitch players.

In 2003, I founded the Texas Blaze program with a simple vision: create an environment where athletes could develop into the best versions of themselves—on and off the field. By 2008, I was coaching full-time, pouring my energy into building teams, mentoring players, and guiding coaches. My degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin, paired with decades of sports experience, fuels my drive every single day.

Texas Blaze

Today, I serve as President and Director of Softball Operations, Recruiting, and Player Development for the Blaze. My role is part leader, part mentor, part visionary—working alongside an incredible team to shape a program that develops talent, inspires commitment, and fosters a lifelong love for the game.

JBS Sports

Through JBS Sports, I stay rooted in what I love most—teaching the game. In 2025, my focus is on elite defense, hitting, and slapping, offering private sessions, clinics, and workshops for both athletes and coaches. Whether it’s refining a swing or sharpening footwork, I believe every rep matters.

JBS Sports Media

JBS Sports Media is where my love for sports meets my creative side. With a camera in hand, I tell stories through sports photography and videography—capturing the grit, emotion, and unforgettable moments that define athletes’ journeys.

JB Slimp Creative

Outside the diamond, JB Slimp Creative allows me to connect with people in a different way—through portrait and lifestyle photography. Senior sessions, family portraits, milestone moments—I aim to create images that don’t just freeze time, but tell a story worth remembering.

My Greatest Team — Family

None of this would be possible without my greatest blessing—my family. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Tatyana, for nearly 30 years, but our story began almost 40 years ago when we were just teenagers. She’s brilliant, beautiful, compassionate, and my partner in every adventure. Tatyana works for Janssen Pharmaceuticals as a quality control specialist and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas State University.

We’ve raised three incredible kids who inspire me daily:

• Brittani – Our oldest, a software engineer in Seattle, living with her beloved dog, Zuri. She’s a proud Longhorn with both bachelor’s and graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

• Rylee – Our middle child, now a sophomore at UCLA, is coming off a remarkable freshman softball season, earning All-Big Ten Freshman Team honors and being named a D1 Second Team All-American. You’ll see her back on the Big Ten Network in Spring 2026.

• Jaxon – Our youngest, now a junior at Liberty Hill High School, is a two-time Pitcher of the Year at LHHS and a key player for the Canes Baseball program. Off the field, he keeps us all laughing with his quick wit and sense of humor.
